Introduction

These are EST sequences from subtractive hybridization libraries that enrich genes up-regulated in various tumors.  Subtractive hybridization libraries were constructed using the SMART PCR cDNA synthesis kit and PCR-select cDNA subtraction kit from Clontech.  cDNA of tumor tissues were subtracted from cDNA of respective adjacent normal tissues (if available).  Five types of tumors that are prevalent in Taiwan were included.  EST sequences for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) are derived from 4 patients, those for esophageal carcinoma (EC) are derived from 3 patients, those for oral cancer (OC) are from 3 patients, those for cervical cancer (CC) are from 3 patients, and those for hepatocellular carcinoma are from 4 patients.
